Kanouff didn’t join the cable industry in typical fashion. She says, “I was working on mathematical algorithms for compression and pattern recognition in radar signals. I heard that cable was going digital and thought that transition could use a mathematician to compress and transport video. It’s been a lot of fun ever since.” Kanouff’s focus on interactive TV technology has propelled her from Time Warner Cable to Seachange and now to Cablevision. Her latest project: Help Cablevision develop a new version of its interactive program guide.
