Yvette Kanouff
EVP, Corporate Engineering and Technology
Cablevision Systems Corp
Kanouff is most comfortable sitting on the bleeding edge of technology – and she’s been behind some of the industry’s most innovative ways to connect consumers with content. It’s fitting, then, that after her departure from SeaChange she segued to a role overseeing Cablevision’s strategic technology goals. Kanouff, who holds several patents for VOD-related technologies, now plays a key role both developing the MSO’s new consumer-facing technologies and bringing them to market.
What’s your favorite digital toy and why? My favorite digital toy continues to be my iPhone. It is my email, my GPS, my phone, my alarm clock, my computer, and of course my source of video content – linear and On Demand. It’s amazing how personal devices have changed our lives.
Without social media, the world would be just a little bit Less connected with distant friends/family and topics, but maybe more connected with close friends/family and topics.
What digital strategy mistake must cable avoid at all costs? We can never forget customer satisfaction and service as we launch all of our new digital toolkits.
What’s on your wish list for the iPhone 5? Long battery life.
If you could only pin 3 photos on Pinterest, what would they be? They would be about different cultures (can I rotate the three pictures?). Our world has such diverse and beautiful places; they are worth sharing and admiring.
