VP, Alternative/Reality Development
Syfy

It’s no coincidence Syfy has gotten a serious reality check since Sampson joined the network in September 2011. On the heels of successes like “Ghost Hunters” and “Destination Truth,” Sampson and a growing Syfy development team have been pushing the unscripted boundaries, adding series like breakout extreme game show “Total Blackout”—the net’s most watched new show of 2012 and back for a second season—and this year’s new series “Joe Rogan Questions Everything” and “Robot Combat League.” A former member of the Dick Clark Productions exec team, Sampson will continue to put his keen sense of program development to work on new Syfy titles. What does he look for in a hire? “Passion. Passion. Passion.”
