Staying true to yourself is the most important career skill, says Wadhwa. In a constantly changing environment, it’s “your character and reputation that separates you from others,” he says. As a minority executive, the need to network has become a high priority on Wadhwa’s list. He believes diversity is important to cable’s bottom line because it’s a representation of the customer base. “Better understanding diversity will assist in understanding customer behavior and perspective,” he says.
