McFadden spearheads all segment and product launch marketing for Comcast product lines run by the cable division—cable television, high-speed Internet, digital voice, mobile Internet and home security. She participates in CTAM and WICT and actively mentors women through the Betsy Magness Leadership Institute. “Actively listen and be open to learning something new,” McFadden says about mentoring.

What’s the most important aspect of mentoring?

Actively listen and be open to learning something new. Mentoring is so much more rewarding if it works both ways.  Truly hearing your mentee will not only help you understand how you might provide guidance and steer their course, but will also give you a different perspective on issues.  Reverse mentoring is a gift that many younger mentees can provide to their mentors.
