Hsiung exceeded high expectations this year in overseeing production of the much-anticipated sequel to hit TV movie “Descendants.” She knocked it out of the park. “Descendants 2” drew 13 million live viewers across six networks. Still, it’s just another feather in her cap given her impressive resume, which includes more than three dozen series and movies. Her coworkers express admiration about Hsiung’s laser focus and initiative, the latter of which prompted her to start an onsite yoga program for employees. She hopes the industry will become more inclusive going forward. “I would like to see the definition of diversity broadened to include differently abled,” she says.
