Susan Levison
Levison joined VH1 last September and got right to work, greenlighting 12 series, including “Dating Naked” and “Transamerica.” Year-to-date, the network’s primetime ratings in the 18-49 demo has increased 18%. Next up is scripted series “Hindsight,” a time traveling story set in the ’90s. When not in the office, look for Levison playing soccer with her kids, reading or cheering on the San Francisco 49ers.
What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?
This year we saw “Naked TV” capture America’s imagination. That sort of boundary-pushing programming is something cable TV excels at. I’d like to think that our show Dating Naked played a big role setting the conversation this summer.
Best trick for maintaining a professional/personal work-life balance?
You have to keep the two worlds compartmentalized. When I’m at work, I’m totally focused and my goal is complete efficiency. That way when I’m home and spending time with my family, I can put the phone away and be with them in the moment. I can’t say I’ve perfected it, but I’m getting there!
When not in the office, where are we most likely to find you?
Playing soccer with my kids, reading, or cheering on the soon-to-be world champion San Francisco 49ers.
