Brennan’s keen analytic skills aid in identifying opportunities for acquisitions and revenue-producing ventures, which undoubtedly helped her when consulting on potential licensing agreements and rights deals. She also produced concise reports and summaries to keep senior management up-to-date on consumers’ ever-changing viewing habits. When her life-work balance feels a bit out of whack, Brennan says, “I breathe deeply, get a good night’s sleep, and start all over again tomorrow.”

 

What’s the most important aspect of mentoring?

As with any other important relationship, it boils down to honesty, clarity, and chemistry.

 

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

Thinking of it as “balance” is misleading and can be downright depressing; one must take the long view in order to find anything close to “balance!”  I often think of the song, “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”  There are days when I simply can’t get everything done that “needs” doing, and yet the world keeps turning.  I breathe deeply, get a good night’s sleep, and start all over again tomorrow.  Keep breathing, keep smiling, and give yourself a break!

 

Your favorite trick for unwinding?

Being outdoors, hiking or just strolling along in beautiful scenery.  Followed by a nice glass of wine!
