In April, Sims was elevated to her current position where she oversees all Discovery’s legal teams, managing lawyers and legal issues on behalf of the company in nearly 20 offices around the world. For Sims, building a diverse team is critical to maintaining the innovation and creativity that builds a great team. At Discovery, she plays an active role in a number of the company’s diversity and inclusion initiatives, and she mentors informally, too. “The cable industry is committed to and has made great strides to diversify the industry,” Sims says. “Of course, there is always room for improvement and additional ground to cover.”
