Sandra Howe
SVP & GM, Consumer Products Group, Arris Group
A testament to Howe’s leadership and technical skills, she took on an elevated role at Arris this May. She’s now responsible for all elements of the consumer retail business, including P&L, product design and engineering, consumer brand development, customer engagement and product distribution opportunities as well as relationships with all vendors. Her goal is to expand the company’s business into global consumer markets. She identifies the gigabit evolution on the network and in the home with DOCSIS 3.1 as the biggest cable story of the year. Howe would tell her 13-year-old self not to fear math and science. “They will help you immeasurably later in your career.”
Which sector of the cable industry best demonstrates gender equality? Which could use some enlightenment?
All companies benefit from diverse teams – gender, ethnicity and age. A diverse team brings many perspectives and allows an organization to create the best solutions. It also is reflective of the audiences and consumers we serve.
What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?
Don’t fear math and science, they will help you immeasurably later in your career.
What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?
The gigabit evolution on the network and in the home continues with new DOCSIS 3.1 Modems and Gateways helping to connect the growing numbers of devices in our homes.
