This past year has been a banner one for Durant, who’s been on team ESPN since 1998. Her role vastly expanded, from oversight of ESPNU and ESPN’s coverage of high school sports to also include management of ESPN’s 24 NCAA Championship and 200-plus Women’s College Basketball games and the entire championship series. As usual, she’s been running with the ball, acquiring new colleges and managing existing relationships with conference partners. ESPNU, meanwhile, has grown in distribution every year under Durant’s management. “Diversity is about exposure to different people, opinions and experiences,” she says. “It provides a more complete picture of the world, our business and customers.”
