ESPN is going fullthrottle to attract Hispanic viewers, and Martinez has led the charge for the past 18 months. Martinez focuses on soccer and boxing, and he’s most proud of the network’s Confederations Cup coverage. “For this year’s event, ESPN had unprecedented on-site production and coverage across all platforms, in both English and Spanish,” he says. Also in the last year, ESPN Deportes launched several shows, including “A Los Golpes” and “El Bar,” plus social media show “#Redes” that targets bilingual Latinos launched at the beginning of this year. Martinez is also leading the construction of a new state-of-the-art studio in Mexico, and he’ll lead all the production of the upcoming World Cup including ESPN in Latin America the ESPN Deportes.
