Last year, DeBitetto transitioned from president of A&E and BIO to his new role, which includes the creation of the company’s first in-house studio. A+E Studios has plenty of projects underway, including History’s 8-hour event “Texas Rising” and a remake of the French thriller “The Returned.” His job will be to fill the entire AETN portfolio—no small task given the slate of popular titles on its networks (“Duck Dynasty,” “Vikings,” “Bates Motel,” etc). We’ll get a taste of his work when History debuts miniseries “Houdini” later this year.
