Rita Tuzon
Having won a high-profile case against former TV streaming startup Aereo and a coup persuading DISH to alter its AutoHopper DVR that records entire network schedules to wait seven days after a program airs, Tuzon is a standout at Fox Networks. At the same time, she’s been handling business and legal efforts for FOX Sports 1, FXX and the YES Network. She is constantly looking for new content expansion opportunities and digital initiatives, yet she always finds time to mentor promising young people from economically challenged backgrounds. She gives cable a B for its diversity success, noting, “When representative diversity is not topical news in the C-suite and in the writers room and behind the camera, we will be able to give ourselves an A.”
What grade do you give the cable industry on diversity and why?
I’d say a B as an industry. When representative diversity is not topical news in the C-suite and in the writers room and behind the camera, we will be able to give ourselves an A.
My personal election campaign slogan would be…
Let’s make America classy again
