Mendez was appointed to his current role last summer, when he hit the ground running on leading strategic, creative and consumer marketing for the network along with all digital platforms, social and branded content. In less than a year, he’s spearheaded several highly successful campaigns including the launch of BBC America’s biggest premiere in 2016—“Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency,” and its biggest unscripted series launch ever, “Planet Earth II.” On the digital front, Mendez continues to expand on BBCA’s “always on” strategy, and he oversaw the ramp-up of content and activities for the “Orphan Black” fan base, timed for the show’s final season.
