Now that OWN has built a solid viewership base, it’s branching out. In August, Winfrey and her team launched an online retail destination for OWN, the O Store, which sells everything from jewelry to online courses. In October, the network will debut “Belief,” a 7-hour original series commissioned by Winfrey three years ago. Filmmakers around the world explore faith in the documentary, which will air across seven nights. OWN isn’t just a vanity project. As CEO, Winfrey has a personal stake in all the programming on the network. She seems to know what viewers want. In first quarter 2015, OWN achieved its highest quarterly prime rank ever.
