Bakare brings more than 14 years of cable and communications industry experience to his role. He recently led the all-digital conversion project in the California management area to successful completion on schedule, which has allowed Charter to launch the Spectrum brand with the highest number of HD channels in L.A. While many execs donate time to existing charities, Bakare created one of his own. “I established Tilga Scholarship in 2013 in partnership with The Ohio State University specifically to support African American males with small gaps in funding their college education,” he says.

What television show/s – cable or broadcast – best embrace diversity?
ABC has done a fantastic job with its primetime lineups.

My personal election campaign slogan would be…
I will simply repeat what Senator Ted Cruz said in his speech at the Republican convention – “Vote your conscience.”

Favorite charity organization you work with?
I established the Tilga Scholarship in 2013 in partnership with The Ohio State University specifically to support African American males with small gaps in funding their college education. Since inception we have awarded scholarships to 10 students at OSU. The program was expanded to the University of California, Riverside in 2015 with three students receiving the inaugural scholarship awards.
