There’s a reason Charter is willing to put up $10.4 billion to purchase privately owned Bright House, a deal that would render the merged entity the second-largest cable operator in the country behind Comcast. Bergman and Miron have built and maintained an enviable empire, growing Bright House into Florida’s second-largest phone provider and aligning with other cable companies to advance customer support like WiFi hotspot availability around the country.
