In a year of continued merger mania, the proposed Bright House purchase by Charter has kept the house of Bergman in the headlines since this summer. One of the most respected execs in the industry, Nomi Bergman continues to steer a strong and enterprising ship, focusing on technology innovations, customer service and loyalty programs for the sixth largest cable operator. Whatever the future of the company, it will no doubt be bright. For women in particular, “the opportunities are significant for our industry as it relates to hiring, promoting and retaining women in tech,” Bergman says.

We have such a dearth of women in technology that I cannot help but reply the opportunities are significant for our industry as it relates to hiring, promoting and retaining women in tech. Yet, there is definitely room for more women in all areas of leadership. The companies who have shown marked and admirable leadership in this area have seen better results. I hope others will follow their lead.
