And you can count on Jo to identify new partnerships and capitalize on market trends like streaming video to grow revenue across multiple platforms.

Best business advice you’ve received?

Focus on being positive. Per Shawn Achor: ‘Conventional wisdom holds that if we work hard we will be more successful, and if we are more successful, then we’ll be happy. … But recent discoveries in the field of positive psychology have shown that this formula is actually backward: Happiness fuels success, not the other way around. When we are positive, our brains become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive at work.’

What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?

HBO launching it’s direct to consumer offering and the impact on the cable industry for both consumers and providers in the increasing availability of options.
