While some have mistakenly declared the death of the set-top box, Google’s purchase of Motorola – along with the arrival of Marwan Fawaz as EVP – suggests Moto will continue to be a vibrant and exciting place to work. Benefits include educational assistance, employee discounts on Moto products, on-site daycare at some locations (and discounts for off-site facilities) and flexible work arrangements. A Twitter-like forum on Moto’s intranet lets employees share photos, comment on successes, recognize achievements and help each other solve problems, among other things. And employees can volunteer with the Motorola Mobility Foundation, which helps fund education, community, health and wellness, and disaster response. During last year’s Global Week of Service, nearly 5K employees worldwide volunteered at various nursing homes, zoos, parks and other facilities. Beyond all that, who knows what Google has in store for this longtime cable vendor. Go Moto!
