Mike McCarley

Title: President, NBC Golf Media

Years in Cable: 6

Education: University of Arizona

One Word that Best Describes Me: Persistent

Under McCarley’s leadership, Golf Channel posted its best five years ever under Mike’s from 2011-15. And the deals keep coming. McCarley wrested live coverage of The Open Championship away from ESPN this year, marking the first men’s major championship coverage in Golf Channel history. The network also will have live coverage of both the men’s and women’s golf competitions at the Rio Olympics, the first time golf has been an Olympic sport for more than 100 years.

Last show I watched not on my network(s): “Billions”

What was your first job? Bicycle Courier

What was the last costume that you wore and why: Prince for daughter’s Princess Ball

Best way to spend a Saturday night: Movie with wife and/or kids

New favorite binge: Documentaries on long international flights

I watch the majority of programming on this device: TV
