Michelle Rice has posted some impressive stats since 2004 when she joined TV One, helping to expand its reach from 30 million subs to more than 57 million today. It now ranks as one of the fastest growing non-sports nets in cable. In addition, Rice has renewed contracts covering 75% of existing subscribers with deals ranging from five to 11 years, all while getting commitments to increase by another 10% the network’s overall distribution. Along with her savvy management of TV One’s content distribution opportunities on mobile, linear and non-linear platforms, Rice also handles domestic and international program sales and distribution. Rice’s success stems not only from her years in the trenches doing deals, but also by honing her leadership skills in WICT’s Betsy Magness Leadership Institute and NAMIC’s Executive Leadership Development Program. With Rice, the hard work and study has paid off.
