And he’s not leaving just yet—he’ll be around for the pending Comcast acquisition of Time Warner Cable and will aid with the transition to his successor. Meanwhile, Burke will continue to oversee the company’s valuable portfolio of news, sports and entertainment networks, a premier motion picture company and significant TV production operations, a leading television stations group and a world-renowned theme park. Smit, who served on active duty with the U.S. Navy SEAL Teams for five and a half years, continues to focus on delivering innovative products and services to Comcast customers as the MSO cements its leadership position in the industry.
