Under Dooner’s guidance, NBCU continues to evolve the Hispanic Enterprises & Content division, as well as complementary networks Telemundo and NBC Universo. Telemundo has made reality programming, in particular for Sunday primetime, a company priority. The network now offers big, proven and international reality formats that promote family viewing. She played an integral role in securing the rights of the single most important property in the Spanish-language world, the FIFA World Cup, and is busily prepping the company for its arrival. Mentoring can help empower others and help develop their skills and networks. It can also be a good partnership, where both the mentor and mentee gain insights and new perspectives.

What/who inspires you at work? What/who inspires you outside the office?

Both at work and outside the office I’m inspired by people who are independent and community-minded, and by those who seek positive change and expanded opportunities. Fortunately, I find that inspiration from individuals in my family and at work and from some public figures I don’t even know, who embody those ideas in one way or another.

Your favorite trick for unwinding?

I really like to immerse myself in a good story, whether in an interesting book or catching up on TV shows and movies. I also like to work in my house and garden.
