SVP, Affiliate Relations
The Sportsman Channel

What we like most about Kang – and there’s a lot to like – is his ability to mix old and new. While he’s one of the youngest affiliate chiefs in cable and arguably its consummate party animal, his youth blends with an old-world respect for hard work and the people on his team. Many managers talk about growing their people; Kang actually does it, urging them to broaden their horizons and take chances. He enrolls them in training that encourages creative thinking and rewards them when they succeed. And succeed they do –  witness TSC’s 700% growth from June ’08-’09. Kang knows his roots, always crediting the lessons he learned from his mentor Bob Rose when the two were at Court TV. Evidence of Rose’s influence is Kang’s support of numerous cable groups like The Cable Center, NAMIC, WICT and CTAM.
