President of Content, Discovery Networks International

After 20 years at Discovery Communications, Kaplan is leaving the company at the end of 2016. The veteran exec has most recently overseen content for Discovery Networks International, but her influence over the company is far and wide. Over the years she has stewarded global brands including Animal Planet, Science Channel and Velocity, and most recently led the international production and development team. She has worked with production companies to adapt Discovery’s series across global channels and across all platforms—including linear, OTT and free-to-air. She’s made a lasting footprint at Discovery and throughout the content industry as a whole.
