Charytan was just promoted to this post, overseeing legal affairs of Comcast Cable and the technologies and services it offers in 39 states. In her role as svp, legal regulatory affairs for Comcast, she was integral in overseeing compliance with the regulatory requirements related to the Comcast-NBCU merger. She serves as a mentor to women in cable and participates in WICT executive summits. “I’d like to see more of us in the core business and technology side of the business,” Charytan says.

 

Where are the biggest growth areas for women in cable?

I hope everything. But I’d like to see more of us in the core business and technology side of the business.

 

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

There are no tricks — it’s the hardest thing we do. Loving what you do, and loving the people you work with, and laughing a lot, helps. Try to have real weekends. And be really present when you’re with your family and friends, because that time matters more than anything.
