Lisa Ray Griffin
Griffin oversees budgeting, long-range planning, forecasting and financial reporting for Turner nets. Aided by a team of finance professionals, she also provides strategic support for network execs to assist them in achieving business goals. Based in Atlanta, Griffin is extremely active in her community through various volunteering efforts as a member of NAMIC, WICT, and NABA. She cites TNT’s “The Last Ship” and TBS’ “Angie Tribeca” as examples of diversity in programming. Looking beyond Turner, she says, “I believe the producers of ‘Suits’ and ‘Arrow’ deserve high marks for creating enjoyable shows that feature minority actors and actresses in key roles.”
What television show/s – cable or broadcast – best embrace diversity?
I’m encouraged that at Turner, we are making strides in diversity both in front of and behind the camera in series like TNT’s “The Last Ship” and TBS’s “Angie Tribeca,” as well as in Turner Classic Movies’ host segments. Looking beyond Turner, I believe the producers of “Suits” and “Arrow” deserve high marks for creating enjoyable shows that feature minority actors and actresses in key roles.
My personal election campaign slogan would be…
We Live Strong, We Live Proud!
Favorite charity organization you work with?
I thoroughly enjoy volunteering at the local high schools and churches in my area. I teach basic financial principles/life skills to predominantly minority students and audiences.
