In addition to supervising the law department, providing legal advice to NBCU’s senior management, and coordinating the company’s global regulatory and legislative agenda, Harris has expanded the media behemoth’s already impressive pro bono program, which now boasts more than 50 percent of the company’s lawyers providing pro bono legal services to a wide variety of causes. Harris understands the need to balance professional and personal demands. “Don’t hold yourself to an unattainable standard of perfection,” she says. “Make time for school plays and sporting events!”

How do you define a successful career?

I will consider my career to have been a success if I’ve been lucky enough to have jobs that are challenging, intellectually interesting, rewarding and fun!
