During Comcast Spotlight’s 10th anniversary year, Grutko hosted industry leaders to review past successes and preview plans for the next decade, and saw a 24 percent jump in entries for the second annual LAMP Awards. A holistic view of life keeps her balanced. “Success to me means leaving behind a legacy of good work, ethical standards and lasting relationships,” she says.

How do you define a successful career? 

I define a successful career as one in which I helped to make a difference at the companies I have worked for, have been able to touch the lives of those who have worked for me and with me, and has made me feel fulfilled by doing work that I am proud of.  Success to me means leaving behind a legacy of good work, ethical standards and lasting relationships.

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance? 

Looking at your life holistically, realizing what’s important to you and striving to be the best you can in all areas of your life. Then let the other “stuff” fall away.  Focus on what matters most to you.

When not in the office, where are we most likely to find you? 

You are most likely to find me at the gym, hanging out with my husband, and catching up on all the premium cable programming I missed earlier..
