What makes you most excited about this industry as you advance in your career?
As Millennials, we represent the coveted and elusive consumer that operators and content producers are chasing, so now more than ever, our voices are more important within our media companies and the industry. As a result, I am excited about the level of influence we will have on marketing, programming, digital and beyond for a growing audience that is real-time, live, social and hungry for access.
What would be your ultimate dream job?
General Manager, combining my passion for people, trends and entertainment.
Who has been your biggest mentor and why?
This year I’ve had the pleasure to work side-by-side with our new vice chairman Andre Harrell to create and execute the inaugural REVOLT Music Conference, and he served as a mentor. He’s a creative genius, entertainment powerhouse and really believes in empowering those around him, helping bring out their best whether it’s an artist or executive. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is the value of having people look forward to working with you and being on your team, while maintaining a fiercely productive culture.
I also believe in having corporate sponsors who are members of senior management, individuals that are swift to deliver praise and constructive criticism. While my boss, REVOLT CEO Keith Clinkscales has Both our Vice Chairman, Keith Clinkscales, and our President/Co-founder, Andy Schuon, have had illustrious careers in media, spanning television, publishing and production; I’m happy that both serve as professional role models on how to not only navigate change but also serve as charismatic leaders.
