Manager, Original Programming, IFC

Giannino works on IFC series “Portlandia,” “Documentary Now!,” “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret” and “Benders,” while contributing to production of its annual broadcast of the Film Independent Spirit Awards. She also continues to prove invaluable at identifying up-and-coming comedians that fit IFC’s brand and helping to develop new shows. “The opportunity for so many different companies and platforms to produce original content makes it an exciting time to work in this industry,” she says.

What makes you most excited about this industry as you advance in your career?

The opportunity for so many different companies and platforms to produce original content makes it an exciting time to work in this industry – there is no such thing as traditional TV viewing habits anymore.

Who has been your biggest mentor and why?

I have learned so much from all the executives at IFC, specifically Christine Lubrano (SVP, Original Programming). She has given me the opportunity to advance within the programming department and to work exclusively with her on projects including Todd Margaret S3 and The Spirit Awards.

What three things make you most successful?

I am detail-oriented, I am great at networking, and I always go above and beyond on every project assignment.
