Jennifer Gaiski
SVP, Content Acquisition
Gaiski brings two decades of experience negotiating programming within the cable industry. She has played a key role in helping shape Comcast’s video offering, overseeing its multibillion-dollar content acquisition budget. She negotiates and administers programming contracts, coordinates field operations and communications for Comcast’s three operating divisions, and also looks over many other company initiatives. She has a reputation for being a tough but fair negotiator while building relationships. Gaiski grew up watching reruns of “Wonder Woman” starring Lynda Carter. “Today, I like to watch ‘Outlander’s’ Claire Fraser, ‘Game of Thrones’’ Sansa Stark and ‘X-Men’s’ Jean Grey,” Gaiski says. “These are women achieving anything they set their minds to achieve… literally, in some cases.”
What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?
Believe in yourself and anything is possible.
Which current programming best reflects the kind of women’s roles you like to see and why?
I grew up watching “Wonder Woman” every night at 6 pm. Lynda Carter showed me that women could do anything men could do. Today, I like to watch “Outlander’s” Claire Fraser, “Game of Thrones’” Sansa Stark and “X-Men’s” Jean Grey. These are women achieving anything they set their minds to achieve… literally, in some cases.
What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?
Netflix on the X1 box. It should be interesting.
