The message of UCI’s 2014 cohesive multiplatform marketing initiative, “United We Stand, Together We Grow,” illustrates Ball’s keen understanding of Univision’s diverse audience, while the implementation of it via print, digital, and out-of-home advertising underscores that she knows today’s challenges and importance of reaching consumers. “I think the programming that best reflects women portrays them in the many roles they have to play in our current society,” she says. “All of these roles complement each other, but conflict at times and the best programming reflects both the joys and challenges that women face today.”

What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?

I would tell my 13-year old-self the following- Don’t let others define you. Project confidence even when you don’t feel confident. Your Bat Mitzvah will be fine.

Which current programming best reflects the kind of women’s roles you like to see and why?

I think the programming that best reflects women portrays them in the many roles they have to play in our current society.  All of these roles complement each other, but conflict at times and the best programming reflects both the joys and challenges that women face today.

What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?

The biggest story is consolidation along with the rise of OTT services and social platforms and their delivery of content.
