Upped to her new post this year, Liburd leads strategic and creative brand development, consumer marketing and cross-business initiatives. Recently she’s developed several shows and campaigns, including the “Love & Happiness: An Obama Celebration” special to mark the White House’s final concert and the “Yes to Black! Yes to Us!” campaign to raise awareness of new BET programming. When it comes to mentoring, Liburd says it’s all about taking the time. “I got my start in this industry over 20 years ago by cold-calling people who took the time to answer my questions and give me the direction I needed. It is my responsibility to do the same.”
