In his first year in this position, Garcia already has helped refine the overall entertainment experience for Comcast’s multicultural customers. From implementing the X1 platform’s first-ever Spanish-language interface, to launching the Bicultural Kids Zone, Garcia knows true diversity begins with respecting who your customers are. “It’s not just hiring more women, Latinos, African Americans, members of the LGBTQ community, military personnel and veterans, as well as members of other minority groups,” he says. “Although we’ve made that a top priority as a company, for me it’s about providing the necessary mentoring and professional development opportunities that give our employees greater access to positions with influence and powerful decision-making.”
