So many TV actors get far more press and attention than Isaacs, and it’s easy for critics to overlook his many stellar performances. But Isaacs’ ability to bring the brooding, conflicting and curious FBI agent Peter Connolly to life gets our nod this year not because it stood out—but because Isaacs managed to serve his character and the story without flash or over-the-top emotion. He did it quietly, and became our perfect guide down a rabbit hole of intrigue in the heart of Jerusalem. We can’t wait to see how he steps it up in Season 2.
