Henthorn will take the reins at the start of 2016—a much-deserved promotion. As SVP of Academic Industry Outreach she has overseen Customer Experience Central initiatives, led the industry’s first study measuring customer care and reinvigorated the Cable History Program. The Center taped more than 25 new oral histories in the last 12 months, thanks to Henthorn’s tenacity. Her biggest inspiration? Her dad, who is an aerospace engineer. “He taught me everything about how to navigate the corporate world and achieve my goals.”

Who inspires you outside the office?

My Dad is an aerospace engineer. He is my biggest advocate and taught me everything about how to navigate the corporate world and achieve my goals.

Your favorite trick for unwinding?

Binge watching “Outlander” after a 30-mile bike ride.

What’s the most important aspect of mentoring?

My advice is to develop relationships with others in the industry, outside the office. I met my first mentor on the Jones company volleyball team.
