Italia Commisso-Weinand

She’s been there from the beginning—in 1996, to be exact—and since then, Commisso-Weinand ushered the company through complex retrans deals while overseeing its human resources department and program strategy. As per usual, this year she’s been busy with tough retrans deals—Media General and Granite Broadcasting, to name a couple. How does she unwind after it all? “A comfortable beach chair, an umbrella, feet deep in the sand, letting the ocean breezes cool my mind.”

What/who inspires you at work? What/who inspires you outside the office? 

What inspires me at work is the energy I receive from spending time in my travels with small groups of Mediacom Employees.  I am also inspired by the challenges that our leader puts forth as “can do” vs. “defeatist”.  Outside of work I am inspired by the youth in my family especially when we are out enjoying the wonders of nature together.

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance? 

Best trick for a life balance is stay in the moment and not allow interference for either role.

Your favorite trick for unwinding?

My favorite trick for unwinding is a comfortable beach chair, an umbrella, feet deep in the sand letting the ocean breezes cool my mind.
