Italia Commisso Weinand
Italia Commisso Weinand is Senior Vice President of Programming and Human Resources for Mediacom Communications Corporation, the USA’s eight largest MSO. A cable veteran for 33 years, Italia was one of Mediacom’s first three employees when it was created in 1996.
Her cable career began at Manhattan Cable (TIME Inc. – Time Warner Cable) where she rose to hold several management positions. Italia’s career and responsibilities continued to grow at Times Mirror Cable, TCI, Storer Cable Communications and prior to Mediacom, for 11 years at Comcast Corporation. While at Comcast she managed several New Jersey systems and received one of Comcast’s first “Manager of the Year Award”. A past board member of NCTC, Women in Cable & Telecommunications and Cable Positive; and presently serves on the Board of The Cable Center and the Emma Bowen Foundation. For the past three years she has been named among the “Most Powerful Women in Cable” by CableFax Magazine.
Italia’s career accomplishments were recognized in 2004 with the Multichannel News Wonder Woman Award. She lives in northern New Jersey with her husband George and is the proud mom of 18-year-old John Weinand and stepsons William and Michael.
