Multicultural Marketing | HBO Multicultural Marketing – Bessie 81 Theater Tour

HBO built buzz for its original film “Bessie” with tours in NY and L.A. that included viewers, the press and social medial. Elements included a “Blues Brunch” with media, local talent showcases and songwriter/producer workshops. The tour sought to help the viewers understand the influence African Americans and the blues had on the culture they live in, the music they listen to and more. More than 2,700 photos and tweets were shared using #Bessie81Tour. “Bessie” ranks amongst the most watched HBO Original Film premieres in the last five years and delivered the most-watched HBO film debut among African-Americans since 2007.
