How do you define a successful career?

A successful career is one in which I know that my contributions are important and valued. A key barometer of a good career is whether I am having fun each day and fully enjoying what I am doing. It is also measured by having a job that is challenging, never boring—and getting to work with great people.

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

I find that being organized each day allows me to lay out my day so that I can get my work accomplished, yet leaves plenty of room for my family. I also make sure I have my priorities straight on what must be done versus what can wait for tomorrow.

When not in the office, where are we most likely to find you?

Out on the lake with my family – fishing, boating and swimming.
