Successes this year include support on Capitol Hill for retransmission consent reform and the FCC’s decision to sunset the viewability requirement. MacKinnon has had many mentors over the years, both men and women. “The best advice that I still use today, ‘Don’t be afraid to fail. Be afraid to try’,” she says. Also, we’ve decided to steal her midday re-energizer, which is to lead the office in a “post-lunch dance-off to Gangnam Style by Korean pop sensation, PSY.”
