A year and a half into his stint as VP and GM, and Rolon continues to score points for ESPN Deportes. With a propensity for deal making that brings coveted game coverage and compelling ancillary content to the sports behemoth’s Spanish-language network, Rolon notched the deal to air live the fi nal of the 2017 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup, US Soccer’s National Championship, this September. He also in the spring brought coverage of the 2017 World Baseball Classic to the network, a complement to Deportes’ “Beisbol in the US” programming. Of the changes in the cable landscape, Rolon says, “The most dramatic difference has to be the consumer consumption trend toward more personalized and on-demand content.”
