Ellen East
EVP & Chief Communications Officer
Time Warner Cable
When the two largest cable companies in the country decide to merge, you can bet the chief communications officer has her hands full. But through it all, you can count on East for a smile and a sincere “how do you do?” She also keeps all of her volunteer commitments going, from serving on the boards of T. Howard and the Arthur Page Society to her championing of WICT. She defines success “by the positive impact of my words and actions on others.”
What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?
The Comcast-Time Warner Cable merger. At least for me!
How do you define a successful career?
By the positive impact of my words and actions on others.
Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?
Abandon the term “balance” and do your best every day to focus on what’s most important right now; some days it will be work, some days it will be family, but no day will be a perfect balance of everything that matters in your life.
When not in the office, where are we most likely to find you?
With my toes in the sand.
