Even if the proposed Comcast merger doesn’t close, Time Warner Cable should be in good shape. And that’s why we’re moving this can-do team to the #4 position this year. Indeed, Marcus & Co haven’t taken their foot off the gas during this limbo period, instituting the TWC Maxx plan that’s resulted in upgrades and faster Internet speeds in N.Y., L.A. and other markets. Marcus has the overall vision. Jain is the day-to-day operations man. McKinnon’s making sure the i’s are dotted as the merger winds its way through the regulatory path, and Minson keeps a close watch on the balance sheet. Together, they make a strong leadership team that elicit a vote of confidence for going it alone if the merger fails or dancing under the limbo stick if Charter—now quite busy with its own play for Bright House Networks—makes another go for TWC. And if the merger happens… well, they can all ride off into the sunset.
