With the stakes for carriage negotiations higher than ever this year, Denson remains strident in her efforts to promote all of Viacom’s media brands across all distribution platforms. It’s a tireless job, but clearly a labor of love. “I love working at a place like Viacom filled with talented, smart, energetic and creative people,” Denson says. “We’ve got folks working to create the next great storyteller who relates to our youngest preschool viewers, and down the hall someone else is imagining a comedy sketch that pushes every boundary.”

What/Who inspires you the most at work?

I love working at a place like Viacom filled with talented, smart, energetic and creative people. We’ve got folks working to create the next great storyteller who relates to our youngest pre-school viewers, and down the hall someone else is imagining a comedy sketch that pushes every boundary and will go instantly viral. It’s a true pleasure to get up every morning and work with these phenomenal people, and I am inspired daily by their brilliance and determination to deliver the best possible product to our audience.

What/Who inspires you the most outside the office?

My husband. He has a calming, Zen-type way of facing the world that helps keep me balanced, and keep me appropriately detached from the everyday stresses of work life.

What’s the best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

Understanding how important it is to unplug, literally. I am so lucky to have an outstanding and dedicated team around me, and that means when it’s time to turn my phone off and focus on what’s important, I can do it and be at ease!
