Dax Tejera

Senior Coordinating Producer for “America with Jorge Ramos” at Fusion

Tejera entered broadcast media when he was recruited from Dartmouth as one of 5 NBC News Associates, a fast-track program at the network that draws thousands of applicants annually. Hired as the first producer at Fusion, he has been involved in every part of the ABC-Univision joint venture’s development and launch. He considers himself a “very happy, very lucky guy.”

What makes you most excited about this industry as you advance in your career?

The fact that it’s changing faster than ever before. The proliferation of media and innovative storytelling techniques spells opportunity, and that’s incredibly exciting for us overachievers…

What would be your ultimate dream job?

Running the next big thing. Not sure what that is right now – if anyone does. But for now, I’m a very happy, very lucky guy.

Who has been your biggest mentor and why?

This answer can only get me in trouble, but I will say I owe special gratitude to many of the people I’ve worked with on the air, who have taught me and pushed me and kept me focused on what really counts in this business. That encouragement and perspective has been invaluable.

What three things can’t you live without?

The Internet. Lunch. And the dictionary. (And not necessarily in that order).
