While Murdock offi cially joined the cable industry when he was hired by Comcast in 2015, his prior experience at the US Securities and Exchange Commission—and before that as Deloitte & Touche’s audit/industry professional practice director for media and entertainment—undoubtedly positioned him well to join the ranks of cable’s most infl uential executives. Earlier this year, Murdock was promoted from VP and corporate controller to his current position, where he leads external fi nancial reporting, corporate accounting and corporate internal controls functions.
